Trauma is the response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event that overwhelms an individual's ability to cope, causes feelings of helplessness, diminishes their sense of self and their ability to feel a full range of emotions and experiences.

Linocut is where an image is carved into a piece of linoleum, ink is spread across it, and then a piece of paper is pressed into it, creating an image that is reversed from the original carving - like a large rubber stamp.

Due to the sensitive nature of the medium, this 13 x 19 inch linocut will only have one print run, and quantities will be very limited. There were only 10 copies total made on red poster paper. The red paper is thin and fragile.

Each print is completely unique, because the way the ink transfers from linoleum to paper is very unpredictable.

20% of every sale will be donated to the Washington Black Trans Task Force, which provides resources for Black trans people in the Seattle-Tacoma area. Black trans people face some of the harshest treatment in America, and helping them out is really a matter of life and death.
