Coelary itself is a Seed city; that is, a city that was originally a Seed.

A “Seed” is a survival vault built by humans over 500 years ago, designed to hold 5000 bug people with food and simple machines to survive and apocalyptic cosmic storm known as “The Event”. Each Seed also contains a variety of human artifacts, extensive blueprint collection, and cultural archive.

Coelary has a population of 15 million in the entire metropolitan area, spread out over 4 boroughs:

1. Vault

   • Vault is located directly above the Seed vault, and contains the core of the city, including financial institutions, public institutions such as the Museum, and some industry.

2. Longside

   • Longside runs along the edge of a river west of Coelary, and contains mostly residential areas, some agricultural areas, and schools.

3. Powerhouse

   • Powerhouse is named after the massive hydroelectric plant on Coelary’s north end, and contains the majority of Coelary’s manufacturing and heavy industry.

4. Underground

   • When the bug people first came out of the Seed (which is buried entirely underground), and the world outside was still dangerous and wild, they populated the caverns of Coelary first. Mushroom farms make up much of the underground, and much of Coelary’s older population still lives there. The bulk of Coelary’s food is grown directly beneath it, in this borough!

Due to atmospheric interference preventing any sort of radio contact, and the dangerous storms and mutant attacks that occur in the wilderness, it is not known by any bugs in Posteven if there are other bugs living outside of this area.
